LOUGHDAN HOUSE WALKING HOLIDAYS

Guided and Self guided Walking
Holidays in the remote areas of Wicklow and Dublin
Mountains and coastal areas, the world famous, "Wicklow
Way" at 132 kilometres it is the longest established way
marked route in Ireland and several well marked
alternative routes adjacent to it
The Wicklow Mountain Range is the largest upland region
in Ireland and rises to a formidable 925m at
Lugnaquillia peak, There is an opportunity to appreciate
Ireland's rich natural flora and fauna and a number of
unique habitats, you will learn the folklore of the
area, listen to stories of people and characters that
lived here and perhaps still live here
You may spend 3 to 10 days or more walking the Wicklow
Way and other remote paths in the uplands and rarely
meet another person, yet you are less than 35 minutes by
road from your base at "Lough Dan House", or nearby
accommodation
The advantage of a permanent base for your walking
holiday is obvious; You don't pack and unpack every day,
clothes and boots are dry and fresh each morning, no
transferring luggage, or bags getting lost, laundry and
drying room always available, delicious and exciting
meals served each evening at a time to suit you. (See
menu) We also provide trips to a variety of excellent
pubs and entertainment in the evenings
And most important of all you get time to meet the local
people, to really know your hosts and their families and
the country, and go home feeling that you were not just
passing by, but were really part of the community for a
short while and will be welcome back as such another
time another day.
All walks listed in the itinerary can be changed and
tailored specially to suit your individual needs.
