MACREDDIN

This unique and picturesque Village is
steeped in history. Named after a 4th century chief called
Credin, Macreddin in bygone days was a booming area with
regular fair days, which were not only important for
business but also were a highlight of the local social
calendar. With fantastic views of Cushbawn Hill the area is
a popular walking trail which boasts amazing views of the
surrounding countryside from the summit. Across the village
green from BrookLodge is a wonderful old stone bridge over
Ballycreen Brook and above the village in the 17th century
graveyard you can admire the work of the famous sculptor
Dennis Cullen of Monaseed on the headstones
