Comhaltas St. Patrick's Concert (16th March)

Bray Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann 16th March 2010 This special concert for St Patrick’s Festival promises to be a fantastic night of the very best of Traditional culture featuring musician’s singers and dancers from Bray and Roundwood branches of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. Through the hard work and success of both Comhaltas branches a renewed interest and awareness of Traditional Music and Dance has been fostered in the area. From the jigs to the reels, the marches to the airs, our musicians are happy to be part of the growing wave of enthusiasm surrounding traditional Irish music. Over 60 musicians and dancers together with the ‘Straw Boys’ will perform and will be joined by special guest musicians including “The Garden County Ceili Band” Wicklow’s Senior Celil Band competitors in the Leinster and “All Ireland” Fleadhanna.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear some of the finest traditional musicians from the locality perform for the first time in The Mermaid Arts Centre.

Traditional Music Event at Mickey Finn's

7pm – 8pm : Enjoy a Traditional Home-made
Irish Meal in the Restaurant.

8pm – 9pm: Private Irish Dancing Lessons with a local Irish Dancing Teacher where aided by some local dancers you’ll be taught some of Ireland’s most popular jigs and reels.

9pm – 11.30: Retire to the Bar, where you’ll be given the opportunity to pull yourself a glass of Guinness and absorb our culture as a real Irish Session with Traditional Musicians unfolds. Now if you wish you can use your newly acquired skills in Irish Dancing and join in with the Dancers on the floor.

Total Cost: €35 per person

No charge for Trad Session (9-11.30)

Irish Menu at Glencree's Armoury Cafe

The Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation will hold a very special menu on St. Patrick's Day, Wednesday, 17th March 2010.
