Killruddery Film Festival
Killruddery House, Bray
Thursday 11th March – Sunday 14th March
This year’s theme is “Celebrating lost, overlooked and
forgotten cinema”. There will be a selection of rarely
seen classics from the silent period. In addition to the
film events there will be several talks and illustrated
lectures by special guests. There will be also be a
number of site-specific film screenings which are being
co-ordinated by Mermaid Arts Centre. Historian Kevin
Brownlow will be making a few special appearances which
are sure to make this an unmissable event. Details can

Treasure Hunt (The Ambassadors Quiz)

Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th and Saturday 20th and
Sunday 21st of March
Are you a clever clogs? Test yourself and your family by
taking part in our Windows on the World Treasure Hunt
competition, just how much do you know about other
countries? If you fancy a challenge then try your hand
at this. The Treasure Hunt will take place throughout
Bray Town and Seafront. Please click here to download an

Once again we have the pleasure of welcoming back the
very talented Bray Comhaltas. These loyal performers of
the St. Patrick’s Festival will no doubt perform yet
another show stopping traditional Irish music set on
Bray’s Bandstand. So make sure you stay around after the
parade for what’s sure to be a memorable afternoon.

Back by popular demand! Calling all local children, come
join Bray’s Comhaltas outside The Boathouse Coffee Dock
on the Promenade where a member of Comhaltas will give
your children a crash course in Irish Dancing,
afterwards each child will be treated to a light
breakfast roll and some juice, compliments of The
Boathouse Coffee Dock.

Brush up on your knowledge of Bray! Bray and District
Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Bray Cancer
Support Centre are holding a fun Quiz Night in the
Martello. Questions will be based on our beloved Bray,
you’ve been warned so be sure to do your homework
beforehand. Table of 4 €40.
Comhaltas St. Patrick’s Eve Concert
Mermaid Arts Centre
16th March 8pm
For the first time ever Comhaltas will perform in the
Mermaid Arts Centre. Over 60 musicians and dancers will
treat us to a special trad Irish music set. Special
guests “The Garden County Céilí Band” will also get your
feet tapping on this fantastic traditional evening.
The Funfair Mile

Dates: 13th – 21st March
Patron’s day is on Saturday the 13th of March where all
rides will be half price to celebrate the opening of the
Funfair.
We once again welcome back Bird’s Euroshow Funfair, the
largest funfair in the country. All your favourite rides
will cover Bray’s mile long seafront. This year it
boasts 20 rides and welcomes 4 new additions that are
sure to give you the thrill of your life. Rides include
the dreaded Ghost Train, the dizzy Waltzer, the
colourful Carousel and of course Bounce World for the
children so there should be something for all of the
family.
Windows on the World
Shopfronts, Bray Main Shopping Streets
12th March – 19th March
This year’s Bray Lion Club festival project has captured
the imagination of all the local primary schools and
pupils. Ambassadors from 17 different countries have
visited the town and overseen their country’s projects
being put together in the schools over the past weeks.
These projects are new being displayed in windows of
shops in Bray, creating a collage of worldwide colour
and education. Participating countries include England,
Australia, South Africa, Lituahania, Poland, India,
Belgium, Hungary, Denmark, Czech Republic, Estonia,
Netherlands, The Philippines, Switzerland, Canada, China
and America and the winners will be announced on Monday
the 15th of March.
St. Patrick’s Day Events
Ecumenical Blessing of the Shamrock
Kylemore Nursing Home, Meath Road, Bray
St. Patrick’s Day: 1.30pm
The community will celebrate the feast of St. Patrick
with an Ecumenical Blessing of the Shamrock, a tribute
to St. Patrick and his understanding of the Holy
Trinity.
Viewing Stand, Bray Seafront
St. Patrick’s Day
FM 104’s Adrian Kennedy and Spin 103.8’s Lauren Kelly
will be joining us for the second year running on our
viewing stand (outside SeaLife on the Seafront) to make
sure you get all the info you need on each of our parade
participants.
Festival Grand Marshal
St. Patrick’s Day
Bray’s St. Patrick’s Day Grand Marshal is being left to
the public to decide. For the first time ever, the
people of Bray were asked to vote for who they think
deserves to be honoured in this year’s parade. Look out
for your Grand Marshal leading the parade on St.
Patrick’s Day. We will also have a very special guest
leading our parade this year, The Leinster rugby teams
mascot “Leo the Lion” will pay Bray a visit and will be
parading Leinster’s most prized possession, The Heineken
Cup!
Pre Parade Party

St. Patrick's Day: 1pm
Get your viewing position early and soak up the
atmosphere – Our stage will host plenty of entertainment
broadcast all over the parade route. Live traditional
music, Irish rockDJ, and East Coast FM parade MC will
create a festival spirit and why not sample our
delicious suckling pig on a spit! Sponsored by Finnbees
Coffee shop and Hollands Fine Wines.
The Festival Parade & Mermaid Street Spectacular
Town Hall
St Patrick's Day: 3pm
Bray Town Council are the proud sponsors of this years
parade which starts from the Town Hall at 3pm.
Highlights this year include The Tallaght Festival Band,
Southside Chinese Residents Association and Firepoise
the amazing fi re eaters. This years parade will also
include the amazing Mermaid Street Spectacular in
conjunction with Artastic - The theme ‘Age of Aquarius’
places the colourful pageant in the adventurous sixties
where flower power combines with fashion. “Go with the
flow” is the motto. Proudly sponsored by Mermaid Arts
and Sheevawn Musical Group.
Ceoil Tursa Chearta

St. Patrick’s Day: 4pm – 6pm
Why not round off St. Patrick’s Day by staying around
the Bandstand to enjoy the musical wonders of Ceoil
Tursa Chearta, this four piece traditional Irish music
band are sure to get you on your feet at this unmissable
event.
