Issued 1st March 2010
The Mercy Hospital Foundation have
launched a very exciting challenge for 2010! Do you have
what it takes to survive three days trekking in the
Wicklow mountains, building & sleeping in your own
shelter and completing challenges along the route? Teams
of two will test themselves to the limit armed with just
basic equipment.
Where and when is this year’s Wicklow challenge taking
place?
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd May 2010 Wicklow Mountains (brand new
challenge!)
What does the challenge entail?
The challenge brings you back to basic s; an intense
training session takes place on day 1 covering such
topics as building your own shelter, navigation,
wilderness first aid, rescue etc. You will then complete
a trek over the next two days of between 35km and 50km.
The event will be full of surprises and twists to keep
you on your toes. Kick off your New Year by committing
to one or more of these Mountain Survival Challenges!
Experience is not essential as full training is
provided.
We also have an exclusive Survival Challenge for members
of the Defence Forces, contact us for more details.
How much do you have to raise? All you have to do is
raise €650 per person or €1,300 per team of two in aid
of the Mercy Hospital and you can take part in one of
the challenges. It is easier than you think to raise the
funds and we are here to help every step of the way.
