RATHDRUM VINTAGE DAY AND ROAD RUN THIS OCTOBER!

Wicklow Vintage Club in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland present the Rathdrum Vintage Day & Road Run on Sunday 04th October 2009. The day will consist of vintage ploughing, a car and tractor run and static display. The Avoca Princess, a steam engine that worked in the Avoca mines will also be present on the day. Wicklow Vintage Club has a new weekend car event, the Garden of Ireland Run on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of October. Starting on Saturday at The Woodenbridge Hotel, Avoca, Ireland’s oldest hotel the run will take in County Wicklow’s spectacular scenic countryside passing through Roundwood, Enniskerry, Glencree( stop at Glencree Reconciliation Centre), Sallygap, Laragh( stop at Lynhams Hotel) and more before returning to the Woodenbridge for a dinner dance. Sunday will see a short car run taking place finishing with lunch in Micky Finn‘s pub, Redcross. If anybody wishes to come out to view the cars they would be very welcome.
