TAKE PART IN WICKLOW HERITAGE WEEK 2008 EVENTS!

Wicklow County Tourism is delighted
to announce that a whole host of events to celebrate
Heritage Week will take place around the county between
25th August and 2nd September. Most of these events are
free of charge and are fun and educational family
outings. There is a huge range of activities on offer
catering for everyone.
Wicklow events include Whale Watch Ireland 2008 at Bray
Head, a family Heritage Treasure Hunt at the Wicklow
Mountains National Park, Avoca Mines Guided Walk, Guided
walk through Glendalough’s graveyard.
Heritage Week is part of European Heritage Days, a joint
initiative of the Council of Europe and the EU, which
has been organized for the past fifteen years to
celebrate the unity and diversity of Europe’s heritage.
In Ireland, Heritage Week is co-ordinated by the
Heritage Council.

also available from local libraries, tourist offices and
local authority heritage offices. This year’s colourful
campaign aims to reach new audiences with the message –
