WICKLOW TOURISM UNVEILS STUNNING NEW GOLF CLASSIC TROPHY

Wicklow County Tourism is having their annual Golf Classic this year on Thursday 24th September 2009 in Powerscourt Golf Club.

The new Golf Classic Trophy was unveiled this week and revealing the new perpetual trophy for the first time, Chairman Tom Fortune encouraged teams to sign up as early as possible to play for this wonderful prize. “The Wicklow Tourism Perpetual Golf Trophy is a beautiful prize and we are urging teams to sign up as early as possible to avoid disappointment. The Golf Classic is a wonderful day out with a wide selection of prizes to be won.”

The sparkling cut-glass piece was designed and made by Wicklow Crystal and will be presented to the winning team by Wicklow County Tourism Chairman Tom Fortune.

Teams who take part in this year’s competition will be vying for the striking trophy. The champions will keep the trophy for a year and will have the honour of being the first to have their names inscribed on a special plaque. There will also be a host of other wonderful prizes to be won on the day. Cost per team is just €480 and this includes a three course evening dinner.

If you cannot put a team in on the day, you can still be part of this great event by sponsoring a tee or hole for just €150.

Chairman Tom Fortune would like to thank members, sponsors and non members for their continued support. He emphasized that all monies made from events such as this go towards promoting Wicklow as a top tourist attraction in the months ahead and help boost visitor numbers to our beautiful county.”
