CAIRDE LE CHEILE FESTIVAL KICKS OFF

The Cairde Le Cheile Festival takes place this year from 22nd May to the 2nd June 2008.

Activities this year include a very exciting and unique event called “Arklow on Show” at the sports and leisure centre, Seaview Avenue 2-5pm Sunday the 25th May. This is a completely free event with over 35 sporting, cultural and voluntary groups involved who will be on hand to display all various activities that are available, and give people the opportunity to get involved. There will be outdoor and indoor displays from the participants during the day, together with fun for all the family.

Cairde Le Cheile was also proud to be involved with the Wicklow Vintage Clubs Exhibition and road run on South Quay, Arklow on the 4th May and the inaugural Arklow Town Soccer Club and Arklow Geraldines/Ballymoney GAA inter club competition on the 7th May and the 14th May.

Cairde Le Cheile is also proud to be involved with the ever popular Arklow Multicultural Association’s International Food and Cultural Fair at the same venue on Sunday the 1st of June at 2 pm. Admission is free and come along and taste foods from all over the world and experience the cultures of Arklow’s newest friends.

Finally Arklow Tidy Towns in conjunction with Arklow Sea Scouts are planning a new garden area on South Quay on Saturday 7th June 2008 with special thanks to the Arklow Harbour Commissioners. Helpers are needed so if come along and give a hand.
