BRAY AIR DISPLAY 2008 TO DAZZLE THIS SUNDAY!

Issued 25th July 2008
Ireland’s largest and only free air
display event will take place this Sunday, 27th July at
3pm off Bray Seafront.
Bray Summerfest Air Display boasts the best in Irish
aerobatics. This is the second year that Bray Summerfest
has staged this high-flying event.
Highlights will include the elite jet and helicopter
piloting of the Irish Air Corps, thrilling drops by the
Army Black Knights Parachute Display Team, and a
spectacular combination Sea Air Rescue (SAR) Display
with the Irish Coast Guard Service and the RNLI Dun
Laoghaire Lifeboat. Aer Arann will be showcasing its
all-new lower-emissions ATR72-500, which is one of the
most eco-friendly commercial airliners currently in
operation.
Participating Irish aerobatics specialists will include
Dave Bruton in an ultra-rare Russian Sukhoi SU26, Gerry
Humphries in a Pipistrel Motor Glider, and Eddie Goggins,
who will open the display at 3pm with a spectacular
smoke-emitting pass in an Extra 300.
The two-hour plus display will climax in spectacular
fashion with the world-class formation flying of ex-Red
Arrow pilots from the visiting Blades formation display
group.
The Bray Summerfest Air Display will also include static
displays by the Irish Armed Forces of Bray's Promenade,
a visit by the Naval Services LE Emer, and a display of
vintage vehicles.
There will also be the Summerfest seaside funfair,
including Ireland’s largest Jubilee Ferris Wheel, which
is located for the first time on Bray’s beach.
