BALLYKNOCKEN HOUSE RECEIVES 4 YELLOW STAR STATUS

Issued 14th July 2008
Wicklow County Tourism is delighted
to announce that award-winning Ballyknocken house has
been given new Yellow Star Status from the AA
Accommodation Inspector.
The award-winning Wicklow retreat is located only 29
miles from Dublin and all packages come complete with
complementary tea/coffee & homemade cake on arrival,
four star accommodation and award winning Irish
breakfasts. And that’s not all - picnic lunches and
transfers to and from local walks are also available
with the use of local maps, guide books, and Wellington
boots if necessary!
Catherine Fulvio, proprietor and master chef believes it
is that extra mile they go at Ballyknocken that has
afforded them the status and believes in providing just
that little bit more than expected. Catherine regularly
acts as an ambassador of fresh Irish produce and artisan
foods both at home and abroad.
Four star Ballyknocken House is a charming Victorian
Country Farmhouse, situated at the foot of Carrick
mountain, providing the perfect rural setting alongside
breathtaking views. All bedrooms are complete with en
suites and have been recently refurbished offering
guests all modern conveniences. The beautiful grounds,
complete with herb gardens, induce relaxation after a
day’s hike as well as an all weather tennis court.
Ballyknocken House is only a short drive from the
coastline and is within easy distance to some of the
most renowned golf courses in Ireland, has access to
equestrian centers and local fishing rivers. Also famed
for its culinary talent you will not be disappointed by
the cuisine! In fact last year Ballyknocken Cookery
School, located on the grounds of Ballyknocken House,
won the prestigious Cordon D’Or International Cookery
School of the Year Award. So if you wish to hone your
cookery skills - that too is an option!
