WALKING IN GLENDALOUGH

|
There are
nine walking trails to enjoy in the Wicklow Mountains
National Park. They are as follows:
Miners' Road Walk: Easy walk of 5km taking just over an hour
to complete with a climb of 20m. The walk brings you along
the side of the upper lake, through Scots Pine woodland and
to the miners’ village.
Poulanass and St Kevin’s Cell: Moderate walk of 2km taking
under an hour but with a climb of 120m. The walk rises along
Poulanass Waterfall and through oak woods. It then veers
downwards to St. Kevin’s Cell. Magnificent views and great
for birdwatching.
Green Road Walk: Easy walk of 3km, taking under an hour and
with a climb of 20m. Mostly on level ground through oak
woodland and to the lower lake. Spectacular views with great
wildlife views.
Derrybawn Woodland Trail: This ramble is 8km in length
taking two hours and with a climb of 160m. Walk alongside
the Poulanass Waterfall to Derrybawn Mountain. Squirrels
aplenty to be seen here and beautiful wildflowers.
Poulanass: Moderate walk of 1.7km, taking 45 minutes and
with a climb of 150m. Climb up by Poulanass Waterfall and
plunge pools and walk through mixed woodlands to the valley
floor.
Woodland Road: A 4km ramble taking under two hours with a
climb of 90m. Enjoyable walk through mixed woodland into
Glendasan Valley.
Spinc and Glenealo Valley: A 9km hillwalk taking 3.5 hours
with a climb of 380m. This walk takes you through some of
the most spectacular views and scenery in the area.
Spinc and Wicklow Way: An 11km hillwalk taking 4 horus with
a 490m climb. Walk up to the boardwalk before turning off
towards Lugduff Mountain. Enjoy views of deer, Raven and
kestrel.
Spinc Short Route: 5km hillwalk taking 2 hours with a 280m
climb. Walk to mountainous terrain, experience is necessary.
Follow the Poulanass Waterfall and enter Lugduff Valley.
Steep climb to the boardwalk and back down through the
forest.
