Seasonal Walk for Garden Lovers
A special season walk through the collections of Kilbride's Kilmacurragh Gardens, led by head gardener Seamus O'Brien, will take place on Sunday, 14th June. It begins at 2.30pm and bookings can be made by contacting 0404 48844.

Come relax on a summer's evening and enjoy a glass of wine or tea and a tour of the gardens by Jimi on the following Thursdays at 7.30pm:

Evening Lectures
Jimi will be conducting an autumn evening lecture series on Wednesday nights. The cost is E15 including tea/coffee. The lectures begin at 8pm. Booking is required.

Keeping Hens and Ducks
With Norah Burges
Saturday, 4th July 10.15am - 1pm. Cost E70.
There is nothing quite like collecting your own eggs in the morning for breakfast! Let Norah share her knowledge and fascination of this undemanding hobby. Subjects covered include sourcing poultry, housing, fencing, breeding, hatching, feeding and characteristics of different breeds.

Gardening with Carol Klein
Saturday, 22nd August 10.15am - 4pm. Cost E190.
Carol Klein, prolific author, winner of six gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show and presenter of BBC's Gardener's World, will join Jimi for a day of lectures entitled 'Eight Plant, Right Place' and 'Plant Personalities' and tours of the gardens at Huntingbrook with discussions of plant combinations.

Gardening Master Class
With Jimi Blake
Saturday, 29th August 10.15am - 4pm. Cost E120.
Jimi will give illustrated talks and practical demonstrations on the use of ornamental grasses and perennials in the garden, designing with plants and extending the seasons of interest in the garden.

Joy Larkcom's Creative Vegetable Gardening
With Joy Larkcom and Klaus Laitenberger
Saturday, 5 September, 10.15am - 4pm. Cost E180.
Joy will lecture on the 'potager' approach to kitchen gardens including elegant ways to integrate fruit, herbs and flowers. Klaus will give a practical demonstration in the vegetable gardens, and Joy will give a second lecture on her travels as a vegetable hunter throughout Europe, Asia and North America and the establishment of her potager in West Cork.

Six Week Beginner's Gardening Course

Tuesdays - 8, 15, 22 & 29 September and 13 & 20 October. Cost E190 for six mornings
Join Jimi for six mornings from 10am until noon for practical hands-on gardening. The course covers topics such as soil preparation; cutting back; pruning; growing plants from seed; cutting and division; growing vegetables; fruit and herbs; selecting the best plants; how and where to plant them properly; plant combinations and many more techniques that you can put into practice in your own garden.

Smith's Garden Special Event

Smith's Garden at Minvaude will be holding a special event on 14th June and 23rd of August. On these open days, an 'Artist in Residence' Maree Hensey will be in attendance, running an interactive workshop making castings and exploring the textures and forms of flowers, trees, fruits, leaves and vegetation through press clay mouldings.

Watercolour Exhibition by Group 55

Exhibition of 60 Watercolour Paintings Opening Thursday 11th June 7pm all welcome open Saturday the
13th and Sunday the 14th of June 2pm -5pm

The origins of the group of Artists calling themselves Group 55 goes back to September 2006 when the first members joined a ‘Beginners Watercolour Painting’ class in Cabinteely Community School. The class teacher was
then and is now Katrin O’Shea. The group has grown and with Katrin’s
encouragement, enthusiasm and talent as a teacher we are all surprised and delighted to be hosting our 2nd Annual Group 55 Art Exhibition.
We sincerely hope that you enjoy viewing the fruits of our labour, it’s been a lot of fun getting to this stage and we are all very proud of the results.
